Linux Cloud Engineer @ Open Systems Technologies

Salary: $150,000 - 195,000 per year

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of professional experience in Linux system administration and cloud engineering
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with OpenShift and AKS in production environments
• Strong proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash and Python
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools including Jenkins, GitLab CI, and ArgoCD
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture, networking, and security
• Knowledge of cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP and hybrid cloud strategies
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Extensive expertise in RHEL environments
• Proficiency in automation using Ansible, Ansible Tower/AAP, and scripting
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Helm, and GitOps
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps
• Strong knowledge of Azure, with additional exposure to AWS or GCP regarded as beneficial
• Understanding of container security, RBAC, network policies, and compliance frameworks
• Solid grasp of Kubernetes networking, service mesh technologies, and ingress controllers

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage container orchestration platforms utilizing OpenShift and AKS
• Administer and enhance Linux-based systems within hybrid and multi-cloud settings
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration through the Ansible Automation Platform
• Develop and sustain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) utilizing Terraform, Helm, and GitOps workflows
• Partner with DevOps and application teams to establish CI/CD pipelines and adhere to DevSecOps practices
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure optimal availability and disaster recovery protocols
• Enforce security best practices for containerized workloads and cloud environments
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and contribute to strategic cloud initiatives
• Assist in migrations to the cloud, ensuring adherence to best practices and compliance with company architecture standards
